4 Eye Make Up Tips for Eyeglass Wearers

Wearing glasses is a hot look.  Just putting a great pair of designer eyeglasses frames on your face can take your look from plain to wow!

But, I’ve noticed lately that some women think that just because they are wearing glasses over their eyes – they don’t need to wear eye make-up.  That couldn’t be further from the truth!

Eye make-up can still do it’s job — drawing attention to your eyes while making them look bigger and brighter — while you have your glasses on!  So, don’t think a great fashion frame is a substitute.  In fact, I think if you want to pep up your look — there is no better combination than well done eye make-up and a fantastic eyeglass frame!

So here are four tips for making your eyes sparkle under those eyeglasses!

1. Start With A Solid Base

Using products like eye primer or applying foundation or concealer all over your lid, to the sides and under your eyes will give you a smooth base to work from. It will also make sure that your eye make-up stays in place all day long.

2. Color is Cool

Don’t be afraid to use your usual eye-liner and shadow colors even under your eyeglass frame.  You can do a smokey eye or something much simpler and it’ll still look great under your fashion specs.

Some suggest that if your glasses frame is thick, then put your eyeliner on a little thicker to mimic the same line.  But, the truth is, it’s up to you!

Another tip:  add a little sparkle under your eyes too!  A pearly white, cream, or beige color can help hide bags by drawing attention upwards!

3. Don’t Fear Mascara

Yes, you DO need mascara underneath those glasses. And, it will be noticed! Unless your eyelashes are incredibly (and maybe artificially) long, it’s really not likely that they will hit your lenses or get mascara on them.

4. Brows Need Attention, Too

Don’t make the mistake of forgetting your eyebrows. Unless your frame sits right along your eyebrow line and stays in place all day long (not likely) your brows will be noticed.

Use a brow liner in a color that matches or slightly intensifies your current brow color.  Remember there’s also no substitute for good grooming when it comes to those brows.  Tweezing or waxing by a professional can help you get just the right look!
