World Sight Day: Celebrating the Ways Good Vision Improves Lives

To say that good vision improves lives may be an understatement. Without good vision, everything—from checking your email to driving after dark—becomes more difficult, if not impossible!

But many people around the world suffer with low vision or blindness and don’t have the opportunity to see many of the beautiful things in life we take for granted. For this reason, the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) annually celebrates World Sight Day. On October 11, 2018, IAPB hopes to bring global attention to the issues of blindness and vision impairment.

At America’s Best, we thought a fun way to help celebrate World Sight Day would be to focus on our customers—men and women, boys and girls of all ages who have taken proactive steps to improve and preserve their vision.

From retinal screenings to annual eye exams, America’s Best customers understand that good vision is not something to be taken for granted. Our customers recognize that the gift of sight is not only a blessing, but also a responsibility.

Retinal Scan

No, this is not a Mastercard, it’s actually a retinal image of my healthy eyes. The lightning bolts are a result of the awesomeness going on inside my head. 😉

Good Vision at All Ages

It’s easy to believe the myth that only older people need help with their vision. But this couldn’t be further from the truth. People of all ages can greatly improve their quality of life by taking care of their vision.

Truth is: it may be some of our youngest customers who benefit the most.

A child’s chance at educational success hinges on his or her ability to see well at school. In addition to reading and academics, without clear vision, it’s also difficult for a child to excel in sports or social situations. At America’s Best we cherish the opportunity to help the next generation see clearly.

That’s not to say we don’t also enjoy helping our older customers navigate eye related issues as they surface. From early detection of diseases like glaucoma or AMD, to helping alleviate the challenges of dry eye or device-related eye strain, one of our goal’s at America’s Best is to provide the best care and correction opportunities for all of your vision challenges.

Do not wear your contacts for longer than prescribed or you’ll be forced to wear glasses for 8-12mths while your eye heals from the protein buildup.
