Benefits of Wearing Metal Eyeglass Frames

Plastic eyeglass frames can be bold, colorful and make a spectacular fashion statement. For many people, metal frames are their glasses of choice! I took a break from wearing metal frames for a few years and invested in some new frames. First, I got a cute geek chic glasses, then a colorful plastic frames, and a preppy navy blue pair for reading. When I recently visited my America’s Best, I went back to a classic and reliable style…a gold-toned metal frame.

There are three reasons why I love my metal eyeglass frames.

Metal eyeglass frames are lightweight. We make a lot of sacrifices for fashion, but heavy eyeglasses should never be one of them! Sometimes it’s easier and more comfortable to feel like you DON’T have a frame on your face. That’s why I prefer my metal frames – they weigh less than plastic frames and are super comfortable to wear all day. They still make quite the fashion statement. Metal eyeglass frames fit small noses better. I have a smaller nose, and plastic frames tend to slide down my nose unless they are perfectly adjusted. Metal frames come with nose pads, and nose pads are the best invention for eyeglass wearers with small noses. They keep your glasses in place – no hassle involved. Metal eyeglass frames are cooler. Metal eyeglass frames are hip, but when I say “cooler”, I mean temperature wise. Metal eyeglass frames can actually feel cooler on your face than a plastic eyeglass frame. If you live in a place where the temperatures stay high for a good portion of the year, consider getting metal eyeglass frames. Plastic frames can also stretch out of shape in high heat. Nosepads on a metal frame allow for a little more airflow around your face by keeping the glasses situated higher on your nose and cheeks.
