There are various things about us that we don’t want really want everybody to know. Like how much we weigh, or how much our house cost, or the natural look of our eyebrows (ahem-ladies, you know what I am talking about).

In the same way, you may not want people to know you wear bifocals.

That’s where we come in.

What are progressive lenses?

Progressive lenses (sometimes referred to as no-line bifocals) are multifocal lenses that look just like a single vision lens but can house two or three different prescriptions and all with no apparent lines.

In addition to the cosmetic appeal, progressive lenses provide a more seamless transition between the different powers than bi-focals or tri-focals. They avoid the age old problem of the image “jumping” that occurs from the drastic and sudden change in power which makes objects and images look like they’re jumping.

Why choose progressive lenses?

Progressive lenses are specially made so that the lenses make crisp and clear vision as convenient as possible, and are built so that the transition between the powers is smooth. If you look up, you can see distance, such as the road while driving, clearly. Through the mid-lens you are able to easily see intermediate distance in front of you. From the lower part of the lens, you are clearly able to read your favorite book or newspaper near you.

Adjusting to progressive lenses

Progressives take a little initial adjusting to, but most adjust anywhere between a few hours to a few days. If you’re still attempting to adjust after that, you may want to visit your optometrist.

Many people see wearing lined bifocals as a symbol of aging. However, tending to your vision should never be something you’re ashamed of. Progressive lenses are a great solution.
