Drivewear Polarized Lenses Activated by Transitions

Whether you are a truck driver clocking in hundreds of hours on the road each month, or a taxi driver (mom) who spends what feels like countless minutes driving from school, to practice, to dance, to… you name it… Chances are you spend a lot of time squinting and staring at the road through your vehicle’s windshield.

What Can I Do About It?

If you want a surefire way to improve your long commutes or car pool duty days then you really need to check out some new eyeglass lens technology designed to protect your eyes from the sun and to make your vision through that glass crystal clear.

The lenses are called “Drivewear” and what they do is they combine the cool features of Transitions lenses with the protection and clarity of a polarized sunglass lens.

How are Drivewear Lenses Different?

Here’s how it works. With a regular Transitions lens, you’d experience the lens changing from a clear or tint-free look while inside to a sunglass look while outside. In the Drivewear version, it’s a little different. The lenses on your frame always feature a sunglass tint (so they are always your sunglasses for outdoors only) but as the light from the sunshine gets brighter or points more directly to your eyes, your lenses adapt and darken to block out the additional sun and allow your vision to stay clear.

I love the way these lenses work because I often find myself driving as the sun is setting in the evening. There is nothing worse than trying to see through your sunglasses when the light is shining directly at you. You adjust the car’s sunshades and try to move your seat to get out of its direct angle, but nothing works.

Or, the other scenario that I find difficult is when there’s just enough sun to require your sunglasses, yet it’s overcast outside so your lenses are almost too dark for you to be able to see clearly with them on. The Drivewear techology solves this problem by adjusting darker and lighter as the clouds move so you don’t have to play the sunglasses on-again, off-again game all afternoon.

Trust me, these lenses are worth every penny if you are on the road a lot. Ask your optician to put them in your next pair of designer sunglasses. You won’t regret it!
