A Night of Spectacles
Just recently, America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses helped sponsor a huge event here in Atlanta: The Night of Spectacles.
An annual event for the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, the Night of Spectacles raises money for the thousands of Georgia residents that have no eye insurance but desperately need vision and/or hearing aide. The money from this event goes to providing “make or break” things like sight-saving eye surgeries to simple basics such as a straightforward pair of eyeglasses or a hearing aide.
The Night of Spectacles designers and design students from all over the state of Georgia create fashion dresses by creatively using recycled eyewear. Local Atlanta doctors model the dresses and designers compete for prizes and scholarships. Past prizes have included things such as an African safari photo shoot, Italian villa getaways, walk-on roles for T.V. shows and the top dress receives a $1000 cash prize.
The Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation is proud to help improve the quality of life for those in hearing and vision loss that are also facing financial difficulty. In fact, 75% of their patients that receive eye surgery are able to obtain or retain their job afterwards.
